# A broken checkout doesn’t look broken. It just stops selling.

A store is not a site with products. Downtime is unsold inventory, updates touch money, and “the site looks fine” means nothing if the payment step 500s on mobile. We maintain WooCommerce stores the way the stakes demand: verified, watched, and reversible.

An hour down on a brochure site is embarrassing. On a store it’s revenue. A silently broken checkout is worse — the site looks up while selling nothing.

Most store outages aren’t the server going dark. They’re a plugin update that shifted the payment form, a database migration nobody ran, a shipping calculator quietly erroring. Uptime checks alone don’t catch any of those. That’s the gap this service exists to close.

001 / store-grade carewhat we do differently

01

## Schema migrations, handled.

WooCommerce updates regularly leave an “Update database” banner behind — the one your client screenshots in a panic. We run those schema migrations as part of the update, along with the pending-action nags from Elementor, WP Rocket and friends. No banner, no panic.

02

## Eyes on the pages that sell.

Visual regression covers checkout and product pages, desktop and mobile: screenshots, pixel diff against approved baselines, AI review of what changed. A checkout that renders wrong on phones gets caught by us — not by a customer who gives up.

03

## Uptime checks that match the stakes.

Multi-region probes with incident history and alerts to the channel you actually watch. On Extended, checks run every minute with instant downtime alerts — because on a store, “we noticed within the hour” is an expensive sentence.

04

## Backups that respect order data.

Daily, encrypted, offsite, 30-day retention — verified byte-for-byte at capture and drilled with a weekly test restore. Order data is unforgiving of “approximately restored,” so we treat every backup as untrustworthy until proven otherwise.

## Real stores belong on Extended.

Not because it’s the expensive one — because the store math is different. If an hour of downtime costs more than the plan gap, minute-level detection and priority review pay for themselves the first time they matter. We’ll say the other half out loud too: a simple, low-volume store can start on Standard and move up when the numbers say so.

003 / questionsasked by store owners

## Store questions, answered.

Do you actually test checkout after updates?

Every update run captures before/after screenshots on desktop and mobile — checkout and product pages included — pixel-diffs them against approved baselines, and has AI review the diff to separate routine content changes from real regressions. Updates are smoke-tested and roll back automatically on regression. We do not place live orders against your payment gateway.

What about payment and shipping plugin updates?

Handled like everything else, including premium plugins that ship their own licensed updaters — Gravity Forms, ACF Pro and similar — and the 'Update database' prompts WooCommerce shows after schema changes. Updates run against a fresh restore point, so a misbehaving gateway or shipping plugin rolls back instead of staying broken in production.

What happens to orders placed between backups?

Backups are daily with 30-day retention, so a restore rolls the database back to the most recent capture — orders included. For many stores that window is acceptable; for high-volume stores it may not be. Talk to us about your order volume and recovery expectations before you ever need a restore — we'd rather have that conversation honestly up front than optimistically after an incident.

Do you touch card data? What about PCI?

We never touch or store card data. Payments stay with your payment gateway, and PCI scope stays there with them. Our work covers the WordPress application itself — updates, backups, monitoring — and the way we secure that access (signed commands, per-site secrets) is documented on our security page.

Do you provide staging environments?

No — we don't provision staging. Our safety model is a fresh restore point before every update, visual verification after it, and automatic rollback on regression. If your host provides staging and you want it in your update flow, talk to us: that's hands-on work we can scope within your plan's included task hours.
